Golden Rules

When rules conflict or a situation is unclear, apply these in order:

1. Card text beats this compendium — the card is always more specific
2. Specific beats general — a scenario rule overrides a core rule for that scenario
3. Effects resolve fully — once an effect starts, it finishes before anything else happens
4. Damage always resolves immediately — no undo, no rewind
5. Active Player priority — if timing is unclear, the active Player decides the order that keeps the game moving
6. No hidden gotchas — favor interpretations that are simpler, faster, and more fun
7. Casual modding is encouraged — house rules are valid; official rules are a baseline, not a restriction
8. When in doubt, keep playing — make a reasonable ruling, write it down, continue
